Rita, X-Ray Technician-Kingsville, TXAn x-ray technician was forced to take extended leave when she informed her employer that she was pregnant. The hospital claimed that they were concerned about the fetus' exposure to the x-rays and a potential future tort suit. The court ruled that this was a mere cover up for discrimination because there was an available alternative that was less discriminatory and the hospital failed to implement it. Zuniga v.
